Elopement/Destination Ceremonies

Eloping is considered to being a last minute decision to get married. More colloquially, elopement is often used to refer to a marriage conducted in sudden and secretive fashion, usually involving a hurried flight away from one’s place of residence together with one’s beloved with the intention of getting married.
Today the term “elopement” is used for any marriage performed quietly. These intimate ceremonies may take place in the privacy of your own home, local park, back yard, living room, favorite restaurant, on top of a mountain, beside a riverbank or in a Marriage Officiant’s home with limited public engagement.

Having a destination ceremony is so SMART to do! Couples take care of all of their legal documentation before or after their BIG wedding day. Whether it be down south in the sun, United States, England, Europe, India, China, Japan, Italy or even Greece, couples would be legally married in Alberta reducing substantial legal documentation in foreign countries, higher costs, time, and stress.

The BIG wedding day would then be either a renewal of vows ceremony or symbolic marriage ceremony. And of course – this special day would be your celebrated anniversary.
